Global Safety Day 2025 on board: Highlighting the digital safety culture

Seafarers across the fleet participated during this year’s Global Safety Day. With the theme "Revolutionizing health and safety: the role of AI and digitalization at work”, seafarers explored the impact of AI and technology on safety at sea.

Crew members took part in four key sessions: 

  • [A]I CARE – An introduction to AI and a self-assessment on digital wellness 
  • [A]I SHARE – Group discussions on social media risks and responsible online behavior 
  • [A]I SCARE – Exploring the challenges of AI overreliance, training, and cybersecurity 
  • [A]I GOT THE POWER! – An interactive quiz testing skills in identifying misinformation and risky digital content

“As bridging the gap for the new technology was quite challenging, especially for our veteran seafarers, the crew onboard accepted the challenge which resulted in a fun and productive day,” shared our crew onboard Bow Cecil.

Onboard, the activities sparked thoughtful discussions and encouraged collaboration among crew members of different ranks and experiences. Seafarers worked together during group exercises and shared valuable insights on how digitalization is changing both safety practices and daily life onboard.
