"The main reason for the initiative towards Sasol was the contract to SEA, India and MEG that we had just been awarded for three years. Presently we have two long-term contracts with Sasol, one for Europe lifting about 300’ mt/year on 11 to 12 shipments, and the new contract, which for all practical purposes is a renewal of the Sasol Shuttle. Under this CoA the estimate for 2022 is about 300’ mt spread on 11 shipments", Gunnar Moen, General Manager at Odfjell in South Africa said.
"The lunch-meeting with Sasol was a great success, where many topics were discussed such as the general future for both Sasol and Odfjell related to decarbonization and new technologies that could support the success of such initiatives."
Bjørn Hammer, Global Head of Tanker Trading, and Hans-Christian Rabben, VP Middle East/India & Africa, joined from the headquarters. The opportunity to meet was very welcomed, and surely even more so in hindsight now that the new mutant is limiting travels and causing new rounds of restrictions.
"When our guests from head office were in South Africa, we also used the opportunity to meet with our regular CoA customer in the Europe/SA trade, FR Waring, and to host a nice team dinner with the Odfjell staff. It is almost two years since last we had visitors from abroad, so it was great to again be able to meet and greet", Gunnar Moen summarized.
