The nomination and selection logistics were delegated to our local offices and crewing, who agreed on an approach and after that conducted a selection process. In some locations, management appointed a delegate, whereas in others, a drawing was conducted following some introductory criteria.
Based on selected criteria relevant for each location, local managements have landed on ten highly qualified candidates. The team attending from Odfjell is composed of:
"We were pleased to see the high interest from colleagues across locations to attend the One Ocean Leadership Program, and are certain that the ten lucky ones will represent Odfjell in the very best way. We also hope and believe that they will find the journey both personally and professionally rewarding, and look forward to learning about their experiences when they return home in mid-October. Congratulations to our ten colleagues who are embarking on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Safe sailing!”
- Harald Fotland, CEO
Our ten attendees will be followed up by the organizers at Maritime Bergen, who will provide the practical information for the expedition logistics and program. Odfjell will also organize pre-sail meet-ups for the team to get to know each other before departure and clarify communication tasks underway and upon return.
The ship departs from Ishigaki in Japan on October 6 and is scheduled to arrive Manila on October 12. When the dates approach, we will follow their experiences and journey on Insite, on Odfjell's social media sites and on the One Ocean's expedition log (incl. social media): One Ocean Expedition.
