COS Øistein Jensen joined the 15-year-old Bow Firda during a hectic loading period in Rotterdam. The visit included discussions with captain and officers, and meetings with the crew.
Among the topics discussed were our work to fight corruption, our policies, and priorities going forward. Jensen also enjoyed a tour of the vessel, where he observed maintenance and condition, from engine to bridge and deck.
“It is important for us to keep a close relation between management and the crew onboard. Bow Firda is a very well maintained Kværner vessel, and she looks great. Captain Junisalh S. Avila and his crew take good care of our vessel”

VP Fleet Management, Knut Erik Fredriksen, went on board Bow Summer in Rotterdam to join a two-day voyage in the English Channel. Bow Summer was up for a tank cleaning during this voyage, continued by a rudder repair in Rotterdam before sailing to Estonia for cargo loading. But the weather was not optimal, and plans changed:
“The weather conditions in the area caused low tide which did not allow the vessel to go into the yard. We waited for two days at anchorage. Since we did not know when we would be able to go to the yard, we decided to head for the Baltic and carry out the work at Remontowa Shiprepair Yard in Gdansk. I followed the vessel on her voyage from Rotterdam to Gdansk – a great opportunity to be together with the crew onboard.”
The repair was successfully carried out in Remontowa, and Bow Summer continued her journey to Estonia.
“I want to thank Captain Bjerknes and his crew for a warm welcome and the hospitality during my stay onboard”
