The program was structured into two distinct sessions. The morning session featured DMMA's administration and notable speakers from the Norwegian Shipowners' Association (NSA), including Capt. Knut Bentzrod, Mr. Larry Gonzales, and Engr. Janu Reyes. Their discussions focused on the cadets' upcoming journey and the maritime industry's expectations.
The afternoon session provided an in-depth company orientation about Odfjell. Crew Planning and Training Manager Marites Villena and Recruitment Coordinator Kim Galura gave a comprehensive briefing to prepare cadets and their families for the apprenticeship journey. They highlighted the expectations and responsibilities that lie ahead, ensuring that all participants were well-informed about the apprenticeship process and the professional environment at Odfjell.
The engagement with parents was a key component of the orientation, providing them with a detailed understanding of the company and addressing important matters regarding their children's integration into the workforce.
This new generation of cadets, supported by a solid foundation of cooperation between Odfjell, their families, and the institution, stands poised to become the future leaders of the maritime industry. Their journey, shaped by Odfjell's commitment to excellence and comprehensive guidance, promises to set new standards in the field, ensuring a bright and impactful future for these aspiring mariners.
