Port Captain seminar held in Bergen

03.05.2023
From April 11-15, our Port Captains from around the world and members of the Marine Support Group (MSG) gathered in Norway for their annual Port Captain Seminar. This event marked a rare opportunity for these professionals to come together in person and share their experiences and challenges.

The Port Captain seminar

The seminar kicked off with sessions featuring our trade groups, followed by a series of workshops involving our ship operators, the fleet performance group, the tanker trading group and our technical managers from Ship Management. The purpose of these workshops was to exchange insights and best practices.

The seminar concluded with an internal workshop held in the scenic town of Voss. There, the group established goals and targets for the coming year.

All in all it was a successful seminar and the attendees are already looking forward to next year's event.

“Our Port Captains are located in our core ports around the world. Although they regularly meet on Teams, they rarely meet each other in person. Therefore, our annual seminar is a good opportunity to meet and discuss experiences and challenges.”

Fredrik Larsen, Manager Quality Management

VP Operations Arne Harkestad summed up the seminar as “a very good seminar with a lot of interesting discussions, which led to a long list of action points.”
