Lindelani Senior Primary School is situated in Umlazi B Section. It has around 430 pupils and 11 teachers, each class accommodates approximately 39 – 48 pupils. The school starts from grade RR with age group from five years until Grade 7 with the age group of about 13-14 years old.
The school has received support from OMSA in a variety of ways throughout the years, including teaching materials, the renovation of a damaged kitchen where meals are prepared for the students, and new fencing to deter thieves and vandals. OMSA also provided face masks and hand sanitizers to the students during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Willy Thorsen, who has just joined OMSA as CEO, visited the school in October to be introduced. He was joined by Vusi Mazibuko from Nduna Maritime, a partner in OMSA.
During the visit, Principal Mdluli expressed appreciation of OMSA for all the assistance in the past, and commented that the support is used as an example for other schools, especially the refurbished kitchen.
"Principal Mdluli had a list of new initiatives that the school would like to realize. We will consider these and contribute where we can, alone or in cooperation with suppliers," said OMSA General Manager Willy Thorsen. "Odfjell is proudly B-BBEE compliant and prides itself in giving back to the community."
