As the only shortlisted shipping company, Odfjell is scored among the top four of all small/middle-sized Oslo-listed companies for this year’s Stockman award. The award scores Oslo-listed companies based on various criteria for strategic investor communication.

Stockman is an annual award initiated by the Norwegian Society of Financial Analysts to stimulate quality reporting to shareholders and stakeholders in finance. The small/middle-sized class includes all but the 30 largest companies listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Odfjell was nominated after an extensive nomination process.

The Stockman jury scores companies on the following categories:

  • Environment, Social and Governance (ESG)
  • Clear, long-term strategy, market information and industry development
  • Financial targets and dividend policy
  • Open, trustworthy and consistent information to all stakeholders
  • Accessibility to key personnel/company visits
  • Annual report and notes, Board of Director’s report
  • Segment information in annual and quarterly reports
  • Quarter reports and company presentations (including Capital Markets Day)

In total, Odfjell scored a 6,773 average. The other finalists were Kid, Europris and Multiconsult. Kid (chain of home décor/accessories shops) got the top score.

The award statutes state that "to be the best in strategic investor communication, companies have to share relevant and solid information about their business to the financial market, and publish the best annual and quarterly reports based on finance analytics principles."

The Stockman has been awarded for more than 30 years. This year’s jury members represented KinderStiff Consulting, DNB Markets, Folketrygdfondet, Carousel, Arctic Fund Management, Permian and Pareto Securities.
