Representatives from the Manila office participated in the 2025 SAFETY4SEA Manila Forum, held on April 3 at Sheraton Manila. The event brought together maritime professionals, regulators, and stakeholders to discuss safety leadership, regulatory updates, crew welfare, and sustainability in shipping.

President and General Manager Agnes Enesio was joined by Olive De Vera, Team Lead Crew & Family Affairs; Perlas Belleza, Team Lead Documentation; Wilen Villamor, Team Lead Vessel Handlers; Jobby Fabros, Crewing Officer; and Saeza Mateo, Training Coordinator.

The SAFETY4SEA Forum has established itself as one of the region’s leading platforms for promoting maritime safety and best practices. This year’s sessions tackled timely topics including mental health and human factors, evolving regulatory frameworks, decarbonization challenges, and innovations in safety management systems.

The program featured a mix of keynote presentations, expert panels, and case studies from shipping companies, service providers, and classification societies.

The forum was an opportunity to stay updated on industry developments while reflecting on ongoing initiatives within the company.

“It’s valuable to hear how others are approaching similar challenges,” says CFA Team Lead Olive De Vera. “These conversations help us look at our own processes with a fresh perspective and make sure we’re keeping pace with the evolving standards in the industry.”

Several panel discussions focused on human element management and crew welfare, particularly in the context of increasing automation and operational pressure. The event also highlighted the importance of leadership in driving a culture of safety and accountability.

“Participation in the SAFETY4SEA Forum supports Odfjell’s commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and crew-centered operations. By taking part in discussions with industry peers and regulators, we continue to contribute to a safer, more sustainable maritime industry,” shares President and General Manager Agnes Enesio.
