Odfjell Manila, Singapore, and Korea mark Global Safety Day 2025

15.05.2025
Odfjell offices in Manila, Singapore, and Korea marked World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2025 with activities that reflected this year’s theme, “Revolutionizing health and safety: the role of AI and digitalization at work.” Each location explored how technology and human responsibility come together to strengthen workplace safety and decision-making.

In Manila, employees took on the challenge of “How Sharp is Your AI Knowledge?” – an interactive quiz competition held throughout the day. Three quizzes were released at random times, encouraging participants to stay alert and think fast.

Quality Analyst Tonchi, CFA Team Lead Olive de Vera, and Accounting Officer Demi emerged as the top scorers, demonstrating quick thinking and strong understanding of AI concepts. The activity combined learning with friendly competition, reinforcing important lessons about AI and digital safety.

In Singapore, the event began with a special video greeting from General Manager Zaidi Mohd, who joined virtually from Shanghai. This was followed by an AI-driven presentation offering practical insights into how AI can enhance workflows and support workplace safety. Employees then took part in a high-energy Kahoot quiz that tested their knowledge and reflexes.

Senior Purchaser Mia Kurnadi, Purchaser Teffy Oh, Purchaser Jana Lim, Intern Chloe Chua, and Senior Charterer Kjell Christensen claimed the top spots. The celebration concluded with a buffet lunch where employees exchanged ideas and reflected on AI’s role in improving safety and operations.

At Odfjell Terminals Korea (OTK), 33 employees gathered for a program that focused on general safety and shared learning. The day began with a safety pledge, followed by a presentation that included lessons learned from past incidents. Employees then took part in a group activity where they discussed real incidents and shared insights.

The event concluded with closing remarks from the OTK CEO Jong-soo Kim and a group photo. OTK’s celebration emphasized the importance of open dialogue, continuous learning, and team accountability in maintaining a strong safety culture.
