I am very happy to see the first video now being rolled out to the vessels. While it shows how a simple task can lead to a fatal injury, it also demonstrates how such an injury can be prevented by using the Stop Work Authority.
The video is meant to be shown during General Safety Meetings, followed by a discussion. It is supported by a Powerpoint presentation that comes with facilitator’s notes to aid in the discussion.
This is the first Safety Culture video ever made by Odfjell. Everything in the video – from the concept, to the script, to the footages – are made by Odfjell’ers, for fellow Odfjell’ers – all in support of our safety culture.
The footage for this particular video was filmed on board Bow Firda when the vessel called the Subic Bay port in July.
Thank you to the supportive Captain and to all the officers and crew of Bow Firda who participated in the video production and extended their assistance – and even lent their equipment – to the shore personnel who came on board to film.
A special thank you as well to everyone from the shore organization who have been working very hard on this project.
