NCE Maritime CleanTech is a maritime commercial cluster supported by the Norwegian government. The goal of the organization is to strengthen the members' competitiveness by developing "innovative solutions for energy-efficient and clean maritime activities".
The members represent every stage of the maritime value chain, including competitors, schools/universities, and suppliers. By today, the cluster has more than 90 members, including the Norwegian Maritime Authority, Lloyd's Register, Wärtsila, Gasnor, Equinor and Kværner. Collaboration and knowledge-sharing are core values.
As part of the membership entry, NCE Maritime CleanTech interviewed VP Technology Erik Hjortland, who is also newly elected Board member. Manager Projects, Veine Huth, will be Odfjell's point of contact for the cluster.
"Taking part of this network gives us an opportunity to learn from each other and find new solutions together. As one of the leading deep-sea operators in the chemical segment, I also hope that we can contribute to the NCE Maritime CleanTech cluster. We really believe in knowledge-sharing in a cluster environment."
