As a lead-up to this race, our team in Singapore kick-started the first fundraising evening by hosting Odfjell's first-ever Padel Tennis Competition last night, joined by ten teams from our customers and the ship broker community.
“From epic rallies to first-time swings, the Odfjell Invitational brought the shipping crowd together for sport, smiles, and support,” Senior Charterer Kjell Christensen summarizes.

Contributing attendees represented Clarksons, E.A. Gibson Shipbrokers, Eastport Maritime, Simpson Spence Young, SPI Marine, Komar Group AG, Neste, New Asia Shipbrokers Pte Ltd, Integra Petrochemicals, NETCO, STEEM1960 Shipbrokers, Odin Marine Singapore, McQuilling Partners, Royal Union and Vantage Shipbrokers. The court was open for all in-between games, and many got hooked on padel for the first time.
“The padel competition raised, at time of writing, impressive USD 8,243 for the Mission to Seafarers, and Odfjell is already top nine of 101 teams who are part of the fundraiser” VP Asia Thomas M. Lund proudly shares.
The Odfjell runners for the culminating race in May are Senior Charterer Kjell Christensen, Pool Manager Yngve Jakobsen and Senior Charterer Peter Schjelderup. More to come as the date of the race comes closer.
