Dear colleagues,
Today marks the World Day for Health and Safety at work. This year we have chosen to focus on mental health.
We are well into the second year of Covid-19, a pandemic where all of us have had to tackle situations that affect our lives to the core. As time has passed and the finishing line keeps getting moved, we have seen a growing global concern about how this pandemic affects our mental health.
Our mental health influences how we deal with any situation, small or large – and it has everything to do with safety. Our energy, motivation, initiative, concentration and attention. Not just at work, but also in our free time.
The uncertainty and limitations on our lives, which came with Covid-19 has affected all of us, and with that comes also a fatigue because it is still very much part of our everyday lives.
I urge you to take good care of yourself. Make sure to give yourself some space to care for your own wellbeing, and do the stuff that makes you happy, whether it is working out, reading a book, talking to friends or playing with kids, growing flowers, playing an instrument, watching Netflix or singing in the shower. There are so many things to be happy about, even during the pandemic.
I continue to deeply impressed with how every one on the Odfjell Team have handled the challenges both at work and at home, and how we have continued to delivered world-class quality despite the limitations we are facing.
I am convinced that we will come out of this even stronger than before.
Please take care, and stay safe.
