Manila office enhances cadet training through vacationing sailors

19.06.2024
The Manila office has launched an initiative to enhance the recruitment process of new cadets by involving experienced sailing officers in the interviews. This new approach leverages the expertise of officers currently on vacation to evaluate and engage with the cadets.

The firsthand experience of the officers is seen as a significant advantage. Cadets can inquire about practical aspects of maritime life, gaining a realistic understanding of the career they are about to embark on. This interaction not only helps cadets make informed decisions but also sets clearer expectations for their future roles.

"Our sailing officers bring invaluable insights into the realities of life at sea," said VP for Maritime Personnel Section Svend Foyn-Bruun. "Their involvement ensures that we accurately assess the cadets' capabilities and readiness for the challenges ahead," he added.

Improving the cadet selection process highlights our dedication to fostering a competent and well-prepared workforce. By integrating seasoned professionals into the recruitment process, we aim to maintain high standards of excellence and ensure the continued success of our operations at sea.
