The Manila office conducted its annual Fire Drill on March 21, emphasizing the company's top priority: safety. The drill aimed to enhance safety consciousness among employees, preparing them for potential fire emergencies both at the workplace and at home.

Led by Safety Officer Reny Ortega and the command team composed of Compliance Auditor Captain Jerry Cadianza and Coordinator Corporate QHSE Nikki Gimena, the drill commenced with an evacuation exercise and an overview of basic safety procedures and common causes of fires.

It only took five minutes before all employees cleared out the premises and proceeded to the Safe Assembly Area.

Emphasis was placed on proactive measures individuals can take during fire emergencies. Additionally, Documentation Coordinator Raylord Magalonga, a newly-appointed member of the command team from the Documentation team, discussed the elements of fire to further educate employees.

Volunteers from various departments actively participated in the drill, tasked with extinguishing simulated fires using fire extinguishers. This hands-on experience provided valuable practical knowledge and skills, enhancing employees' confidence in responding effectively to fire incidents.

The Fire Drill underscored Odfjell's commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and fostering a culture of safety among its workforce. By regularly conducting such drills, the company ensures that employees are well-prepared to handle emergencies, minimizing potential risks and promoting a sense of security.

Through proactive measures, continuous training, and collaboration among employees, Odfjell reaffirms its dedication to prioritizing safety in all aspects of its operations. The annual Fire Drill serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and readiness in ensuring the well-being of everyone in the workplace and beyond.
