IT leaders align on direction at Odfjell’s Corporate IT Summit

03.04.2025
IT Bergen recently hosted a two-day Corporate IT Summit, bringing together IT colleagues from across the company. The agenda focused on cybersecurity, collaboration, and aligning on how IT can best support Odfjell’s strategic goals through digitalization.

“The signpost at Mount Fløyen represents the purpose of this summit clearly—there are many directions to choose from and opportunities to pursue, so it’s essential that the path forward is clear and that everyone works together to get there,” said Alena K. Pedersen, VP Corporate IT.

The summit reaffirmed the corporate IT and digitalization priorities for 2025, which support Odfjell’s long-term strategy:

  • Safety: Complete gap assessments and implement required measures to comply with the EU NIS2 directive.
  • Chemical Tankers: Launch a data governance program, including a new data platform, defined roles, and supporting processes. Fully implement the Digitalization framework.
  • Finance: Roll out a FinOps framework to improve cost control and promote value awareness in digitalization.
  • People and Organization: Develop and launch a digital skills training catalogue, supported by change management and integrated into the company-wide development program.

These focus areas aim to strengthen prioritization, improve data management, and build capabilities—maximizing value creation from IT across the organization.
