International Cybersecurity Awareness Month at Odfjell

02.10.2023
October is the International Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) in numerous countries around the world, and is also marked at Odfjell.

CSAM is more important than ever, with phishing and cyberattacks now occurring every 39 seconds. The most worrying is that 95% of all cyber events are caused by human error (source: Deloitte). Such statistics highlight the ongoing threat that Odfjell and other organizations face, and the need to ensure cybersecurity awareness at all levels.

The last company-wide phishing test conducted at Odfjell this year shows that we MUST improve.

22% of Odfjell employees clicked on a malicious link that they should easily have spotted was a fake. They did not:

…before they clicked!

Data breach prevention is the job of every one of us

To help and remind you of your responsibility when it comes to preventing security breaches, we will focus on cybersecurity in October by assigning one short training course from Knowbe4 each week (2-4 min long) for shore employees.

Every one of us has a responsibility to keep the company digitally safe, and Odfjell’s number one guiding principle also applies to cyber security: We do not compromise on safety.
