Halcyon, Odfjell’s PEME package provider in the Philippines, released the notice following an influx of patients coming in hours earlier than scheduled appointments, raising concerns about their clients’ health and safety.
The clinic is also reminding seafarers that those who come in without appointment are accommodated only after the queued patients appointed for the day have been served, as the foot traffic in the clinic needs to be controlled at all times. This means seafarers who show up without an appointment may not be able to finish their PEME within the day, hence the need to come back the next day for pending tests such as physical examination, ultrasound, and treadmill stress test, if included in the package.
