02.06.2025
HSSEQ Manager Captain Vinicius Madruga Santos and Flumar General Manager Alessio Contran attended a meeting in Rio de Janeiro on May 22, organized by Petrobras for their maritime business partners. The gathering brought together shipowners working with Petrobras to discuss key topics shaping operations and partnerships.

The event served as a platform for Petrobras to engage directly with the contracted shipowners, with focused discussions on contractual obligations, operational efficiency, and the strategic alignment of maritime logistics within the company’s wider supply chain.

Held in person, the meeting featured representation from both shipowners and brokers active in the region. It provided an opportunity for participants to share insights, exchange experiences, and take a closer look at industry trends, challenges, and upcoming regulatory changes.

A series of presentations covered a broad range of operational and commercial topics. These included updates on Petrobras’ compliance framework, sanctions management practices, logistics strategies, vessel operations, and verification procedures. Speakers also discussed chartering dynamics and current trading practices related to both crude oil and refined products.

In addition, the agenda addressed the growing focus on sustainability in shipping. The sustainability panel explored ongoing initiatives within Petrobras and the broader industry, including fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, and regulatory developments related to decarbonization.

The meeting offered insights into Petrobras’ priorities and gave shipowners a clearer understanding of how to support the company’s evolving requirements.
