Flumar Brasil completes 15-year survey and record voyage

05.08.2025
Our 2010-built Flumar Brasil has had quite the adventure. After spending nearly her entire career trading along the Brazilian coast, the 51,000 dwt chemical tanker took a rare deep-sea voyage this year — heading all the way to ASRY shipyard in Bahrain for her 15-year drydock and third special survey.

The month-long stop was more than a routine checkup. Flumar Brasil received a full-scope makeover: class and CAP surveys, structural steel renewal, deck maintenance, a fresh coat of paint, and a complete overhaul of her main engine.

The drydock didn’t just transform the vessel as it also offered new experiences for her all-Brazilian crew, many of whom were sailing deep-sea and working abroad for the first time.

Refreshed and fully tuned for safe and efficient trading, Flumar Brasil set sail once more, first calling at Oman for a record achievement: loading the largest cargo in her history. Next stop: South Africa, before returning home to familiar waters along the Brazilian coast.

After 15 years of service, our trusted workhorse is back: renewed, recharged, and ready for the years ahead.
