The meeting covered updates on fleet renewal, digitalization and upcoming projects within Ship Management. The council also discussed the various concerns raised from the ships.
VP Maritime Personnel Torger Trige led the meeting attended by representatives from Ship Management shore organization and shipboard management teams (SMTs).
The shipboard organization was represented by Captains Luisito Cantona and Randy Allan Cabiao, Chief Engineer Roy Laraya, Chief Officer Oliver Tongol and Second Engineer Abner Sevilla.
“I have always believed that open and honest communication is the key to progress in the business we are involved in, the shipping industry. As the link of communication between SMTs and the shore organization locally and at the headquarters, the Officers' Council meetings pave the way for better coordination, collaboration and understanding, which benefit both the sea and office staff.”
Captain Luisito Cantona
Formed in 2017, the Filipino Officers' Council has for three years running served as an important arena for dialogues between shipboard employees and the shore management. This year’s meeting has been equally productive:
“Good information exchange, good questions, important actions established and good atmosphere. All in all, a great Council meeting!”
Torger Trige, VP Maritime Personnel
