Chemical Engineer Hailee Smith works within Eastman’s North America region facilities logistics & supply chain group. She has been with Eastman for almost five years and has worked both within the NAR facilities group and previously within their manufacturing group, supporting their Kingsport and Texas City plant operations.
"This was her first opportunity to visit OTH, so while in Houston we took the opportunity to show her the Bow Optima docked alongside OTH. She had never been on board a vessel before and to have the opportunity to visit one of our newest vessels was truly a special treat," said Bill Law, Senior Manager Sales & Business Development.
He continued: "The officers and crew onboard the Bow Optima were very gracious and showed our guest the complex workings of a modern sophisticated parcel tanker. We had an extensive tour of the bridge, the engine room and the deck including a detailed overview of cargo operations."
"With her technical background and training, she left extremely impressed with Odfjell’s capabilities, our strong commitment to safety and ESG efforts, and our attention to detail in all that we do, an impression that will no doubt last a lifetime."
"Sincere thanks are particularly extended to Captain Eirik Kittelsen, Chief Officer Jan Kenneth Hamre and Chief Engineer Thore Lid Knarvik on the Bow Optima, and to Odfjell Tanker’s Jared Honeycutt and OTH’s Jorge Perez for making this such a successful visit."
