Shortly after departing from the Maldives, an on-signing crew member reported light Covid-19 symptoms. Two antigen tests showed a positive result, confirmed later with a positive PCR test result. He has disembarked and now stays at a local hotel in Male. Our infected colleague is vaccinated and is in good health.
The rest of the crew tested negative. Bow Spring is now alongside in Male, and extra precautionary measures are implemented on board.
The Covid response team is in close dialogue with local authorities, P&I and agent to plan the operational and commercial logistics. The involved charterers are informed; quarantine requirements and delays are expected.
