VP Maritime Personnel Torger Trige welcomed the 210-strong crowd recognizing the hard work Odfjell’s seafarers have demonstrated.
Global Head of Ship Management Geirmund Drivenes, who attended his first Crew and Allottees conference, appealed to the family members when he talked about safety: Every time your husband, father or son goes on board, demand them to come back in one piece.

The day was made more worthwhile with the awarding of token and certificate to Bosun Abner Pineda, who reached his 25th year of service with Odfjell.
For the seafarer participants, the day proceeded with the Safety Workshop facilitated by Drivenes, Trige and VP – Head of Crewing Agnes Enesio. The workshop followed this year’s Global Safety Day program, focused on hazard identification and proper personal protective equipment usage and work at heights.
The participants expressed their appreciation of this year’s setup, especially the interaction and open discussions during the workshop.

The crewmembers were not the only ones hard at work during the conference. After updates on the Odfjell in the Philippines organization and a talk on the company’s sustainability efforts, the family members were assigned into groups for their own workshop. The participants shared their insights and best practices on financial wellness and emergency preparedness within their groups, and to the crowd afterwards.
Based on the output of the workshop, it can be concluded that everyone in the room had a valuable takeaway from all the discussions.
