The Compas Crew Self-Service module (CSS) offers the following key benefits to seafarers:
Access to own information
With the Compas CSS, seafarers will have access to their own personal employee information, including, among others: contracts, intended joining vessel, intended embarkation and disembarkation dates, and payslips. You will also have an overview of your documents along with the expiry dates, and pending training and certification requirements.
Ownership and control
Apart from access to real-time data, seafarers will also have the capacity to update own information and upload documents. You can keep track of your records and update them as necessary, without having to rely on intervention from shore personnel.
Automatic updates
Any update done in any of the three modules (Office, Onboard, CSS) gets automatically replicated in the other two, allowing all users in the Compas environment to have access to live data. This means that you no longer need to update Documentation or your vessel handler on any updates you made on your records. Similarly, you are assured that you will be able to view any changes made by the Captain or any shore personnel on your records, real-time.
Messaging
Compas also has a built-in messaging function that can be used to communicate information not covered by automatic updates, or simply ask questions. This makes communication between seafarers and office personnel not only easier and more efficient, but also more secure, as it reduces the need to use email, phone or social messaging apps for communication.
Improved reimbursement procedure
Seafarers will also be able to submit requests and requirements for reimbursements via the portal.
The most important feature that ties all these together: Compas is cloud-based, so seafarers have 24/7 access to the portal. This means you can access your profile no matter where you are, and update your records at your most convenient time.
The CSS will be available in January 2021. Stay tuned for more information and training announcements.
