Chair Laurence Odfjell, accompanied by his wife and son, recently paid a visit to Odfjell Terminals Korea (OTK). Marking Laurence's return to OTK after nearly a decade, the visit involved meetings with key stakeholders and a firsthand observation of the terminal's operations.

During the four-day stay, Laurence together with Adrian Lenning, Managing Director Terminals, engaged in meetings with various stakeholders, including joint venture partner KPIC, and S-Oil, a subsidiary of Saudi-Aramco in Korea. Discussions mainly focused on S-Oil's USD 7 billion Shaheen project, exploring OTK's potential role as a logistics partner due to its strategic location and waterfront access. Reflecting on the meetings, Laurence remarked:

“The discussions held over the past few days highlighted the inherent strategic significance of our terminals, especially in areas where access to both land and water is limited and highly valued. OTK’s strong safety record, great housekeeping and motivated management is an inspiration.” – Laurence Odfjell, Chair

Laurence had the opportunity to tour the OTK site, where he noted the terminal's continued strong safety record, high efficiency and well maintained standards. Despite the passage of time, he was impressed by the facility's upkeep and asset integrity.

A town hall session offered Laurence the opportunity to speak directly to a large part OTK organization, highlighting Odfjell’s satisfaction with the safety record over the last decade and the improved team spirit across disciplines. He therefore expressed Odfjell’s support and keen interest in the terminal's future and expansion possibilities. His message was warmly received by the OTK team.

The evening concluded with a dinner with the OTK management team, fostering camaraderie amongst attendees. Special thanks were extended to Jong Soo Kim, CEO OTK, Hye Young Kwon, Accounting Assistant, and the OTK team for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and productive visit.
