Bow Jubail helps out with supplies in Beira

Bow Jubail took the opportunity of calling the Port of Beira to provide assistance to the local community hit by a severe cyclone.

As Bow Jubail called the Port of Beira during the first week of April, the crew took initiative and provided assistance to the local community in Mozambique ravaged by Cyclone Idai.

Together with the locals, the crew offloaded surplus provisions for distribution to the community. They donated sacks of rice, canned goods, and other basic food necessities.

Cyclone Idai caused massive destruction in Mozambique and Zimbabwe when it made landfall on the evening of March 14th near the port city of Beira. More than a month later, both countries are still struggling to recover from the devastation.

SC Scorpio initially provided aid to the local community when it arrived in Beira to discharge cargo for our customer FR Waring a few days after the cyclone made landfall.
