The last Saturday of October started early for the Bow Clipper crew. Everyone helped with the preparations for the Inter-Atlantic Olympics to be held that day: decorations were hung, lights were set up, and various dishes were prepared. The crewmembers also readied themselves for the much anticipated group presentations. Everyone was so looking forward to the event, as most of the crew on board were about to experience such an activity for the first time. The theme Celebrating Camaraderie Leading to Unity added to the brewing excitement.

The event was opened with an invocation by Deck Boy Jerald Versoto, follwed by the raising of the Philippine flag accompanied by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Captain Marvin Marmolejo encouraged the crew to enjoy the activity especially prepared for them, while Chief Engineer Roberto Bautista formally opened the Inter-Atlantic Olympics.

The group chant presentation was the first order of business. All four groups executed their chants perfectly, in creative costumes and inventive props. The performances proved that the participants have been practicing since they were divided into groups a week prior.

The games that followed brought out the competitive side of the crewmembers: card relay, egg relay, bottle relay, sack race, egg toss game, flour-blowing contest, and word-guessing game. They were equally enjoyed by the participants, both for the fun and for the challenge that brought the crewmembers closer together.

Through the efforts of major sponsors Captain Marmolejo, Chief Engineer Bautista, Chief Officer Armando Pascual, Second Engineer Siegfred Ocat, and Second Officer Francis James Montinola, Third Officer Lito Magallano II, Third Officer Eugene Tabayan, Third Engineer Jan Michael Maquiran, Fourth Engineer Jun Vic Diaz and Electrician Raque Paiso, prizes were awarded to the following winners:

Team Poseidon 300: Assistant Pumpman Alfie Ortega, Able Seaman Gilbert Seno, Ordinary Seaman Alvin Santiago, and Chief Cook Joseph Borja.

Team Hung Hunks: Deck Boy Jerald Versoto, Motorman Froilan Flores, Wiper Jayson Navarro, and Messman Mark Darren Ansaldo.

Chief Officer Pascual concluded the event expressing his gratitude and happiness for the successful turnout. The day was capped off with a pool party.
