Dear Colleagues,
On Friday, December 16, we sent out a press release announcing that we will expand the executive management team in Odfjell, with Bjørn Hammer, Torger Trige and Adrian Lenning as new members, with immediate effect. I would like to provide a bit more information on the background of this management change.
Since assuming the CEO role about six months ago, I have revisited key strategic objectives and discussed improvement potential together with the board, executive management/global heads, and other internal and external resources.
The Board has confirmed that the strategic direction remains, and has also approved the appointment of three new members of our Executive Management team, as announced today. I am very pleased that our three Global Heads will formally become part of the executive leadership team as follows:
Bjørn Hammer is appointed as Chief Commercial Officer.
In this expanded role he will assume global strategic and operational leadership of our commercial operations.
Torger Trige is appointed Chief Technical Officer.
He will continue to lead ship management and our technical operations globally.
Adrian Lenning is appointed Managing Director, Terminals.
He will continue to lead our Terminals business globally.
This promotion formalizes an already established way of working: The three global heads have regularly participated in all executive management meetings and board meetings for the past years.
Øistein Jensen and Terje Iversen will continue in their respective roles as Chief Sustainability Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Anngun Dybsland (VP Communications), Alena K. Pedersen (VP Corporate IT) and Ingjerd M. Nettestad (VP Corporate HR) will also continue to report to me. The COO and Global Head roles will not be continued.
I am especially happy about the fact that we have highly qualified internal candidates who are prepared and motivated to assume additional leadership responsibilities. Torger, Bjørn and Adrian bring expertise and experience that ensure continuity and progress. I look forward to our continued cooperation in reaching Odfjell’s strategic, commercial and operational targets in the coming years.
