Sometime in early July, we added an exciting chapter to the Odfjell maritime chronicles, as we hosted a distinguished guest, none other than His Excellency, The Norwegian Ambassador to Singapore. This memorable visit was helmed by Laurence Odfjell, with our Port Captain, Odd Arne Hansen, as the trusted skipper steering the event.
Mr. Eivind Homme, the man of the hour, embarked on his maiden voyage on a chemical tanker, trading his diplomat's hat for a seafarer's cap. At the helm, Captain Jose and Chief Engineer Hans proved to be splendid hosts, offering a thorough tour of our majestic Bow Summer. The journey was peppered with the delightful aroma of Norwegian seafood, masterfully prepared by our culinary maestro, our chief cook.
While aboard, Mr. Eivind had the chance to chat with our young and highly competent Third Officer Thor Erik, who happened to be on bridge duty. Our Port Captain Odd Arne pulled back the curtains on the intricate workings of such a sophisticated vessel, turning this outing into an intriguing class on Ship Mechanics 101. The Ambassador's impression was nothing short of awe, and he reciprocated the hospitality by extending an invitation for shoreside refreshments.
In a bid to emphasize Odfjell's proud presence in Singapore, with a delightful Norwegian twist, the Ambassador himself suggested a cinematic venture. And so, the lights were lit, the camera began to roll, and our maritime stage welcomed two stars, the inimitable Mr. Eivind Homme and our dynamic Third Officer Thor Erik.
Our very own Senior Technical Superintendent, Tommy Berg, seized the opportunity to showcase our proactive steps towards a greener tomorrow. A slideshow unveiling our current initiatives and projects, including the upcoming pilot project for an air lubrication system set for Q3/Q4 installation, caught Mr. Eivind's interest.
Kudos to Captain Jose and all of the crew for maintaining such a grand vessel. Our hearts swelled with pride as we showcased Bow Summer to Mr. Eivind, flaunting not just the beauty of the ship, but the competency of our team. Each member aboard was a testament to the Odfjell spirit.

A day to remember, indeed! And now, back to sailing those high seas!
