Day 1: Tankers Day
The first day kicked off with market updates from our Chief Commercial Officer Bjorn Hammer. Following this, Operations Manager Thor Erik Haugland led a workshop for the Captains and Chief Engineers, covering key topics relevant to our operations. The day ended with the Dinner and Awarding Ceremony, where we honored 11 seafarers for their 25 Years of Exceptional Loyalty and Service, celebrating their steadfast commitment to our shared mission.
Day 2: SM OpTech Day
Day two opened with welcome remarks from Chief Technical Officer, Torger Trige, and updates on Ship Management by VP Fleet Management, Knut Erik Fredriksen. The day’s agenda was packed with workshops and discussions that tackled crucial subjects such as Incident Handling, New System Integration, Cost, and the Onboarding Working Environment. A key focus of the day was a dedicated workshop on creating a safe and work environment onboard. This session fostered important dialogue on maintaining a respectful and supportive workplace culture for all crew members. The day concluded with remarks from VP Maritime Personnel Section, Svend Foyn-Bruun, emphasizing the importance of these ongoing conversations in driving our fleet’s success.
Day 3: SM Portal Workshop for Chief Engineers
A highlight of this Fleet Week was the introduction of a dedicated day for a SM Portal Workshop, allowing our Chief Engineers to focus exclusively on the SM Portal’s features and capabilities. The session began with Manager of Asset Maintenance Group, Robert Øksnes, setting the tone for a day of hands-on exercises and in-depth learning, led by the AMG team.
Fleet Week 2024 in Manila provided an opportunity for our seafarers, shore colleagues, and technical experts to come together, share knowledge, and strengthen the bonds that drive our success.
Svend Foyn-Bruun, VP Maritime Personnel Section, summarized: "Fleet Week is an invaluable opportunity for us to come together and address the key challenges and opportunities we face.
It's a time for learning, collaboration, and ensuring that our seafarers and shore teams are aligned in our shared mission of operational excellence.
The workshops and discussions reinforced our commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement, while the recognition of our seafarers' loyalty highlighted the heart of our operations—the people.
I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished this week and excited for what lies ahead as we continue to strengthen our fleet."
The last Fleet Week of the year will be held in Bergen this November, where we will continue to set strategic direction and foster collaboration between our ship and shore colleagues.
